‘Inflation is rampant, much higher than we think, a threat to human wellbeing’
‘Inflation is theft’. It sounds like a cliché, which doesn’t make it less true. Rising housing prices are putting a tremendous strain on ordinary families, which causes fertility rates to drop dramatically. Western societies somehow believe that unfunded pensions are still magically sustainable. In the ‘90’s, one person, be it the mother or the father, could support a family and a house but those days are long gone. The main culprit is obviously the central bank; there is a near perfect correlation between misery by unaffordable houses and central bank intervention. Central banks need to be very active to support governments and their shaky finances; at the cost of ordinary families.
